They may be a bit less physical down low, but the Gonzaga Bulldogs are scoring at will along the perimeter.
March Madness Scores: Gonzaga Rolling Over West Virginia At The Half
At halftime, the Zags lead the West Virginia Mountaineers 40-22 in their second round NCAA Tournament game.
Freshman sensation Kevin Pangos leads all scorers with 13 points, spearheading Gonzaga’s 50 percent shooting from the floor.
For West Virginia, well, they’re really struggling.
Efficiency nerds should know that the Mountaineers are currently playing at a rate that equates to only 66-points per 100-possessions. That’s really bad, and the issue compounds itself when you see that the Big East’s leading scorer and rebounder, Kevin Jones, has two fouls and will surely be limited going into the second-half.
The Huggy Bear cannot be happy.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs’ hot shooting has them playing at a 116 offensive efficiency rate.
If the Bulldogs stay hot, WVU will probably not be able to get back in to this game. They don’t have a ton of guys who can score, so it will take a heroic defensive effort to cut down this deficit.
