NFL Draft 2012: Jets Targeting WR In Round 2, According To Report

The New York Jets will target a wide receiver in the 2nd round of the 2012 NFL Draft, according to a report by Brian Costello of the New York Post. Without much depth behind Santonio Holmes, the Jets could use a playmaker to aid Mark Sanchez (or Tim Tebow) at quarterback.

Several talented prospects are still available, even with Justin Blackmon, Michael Floyd, Kendall Wright and A.J. Jenkins off the board. The likes of Stephen Hill, Alshon Jeffery, Mohamed Sanu or Rueben Randle, all of whom are 6'2 or taller, would give the Jets a much needed infusion of size in the red zone. Hill is the best available of the four if SB Nation's Mock Draft is any indication, though whether he will fall to the No. 16 pick of the 2nd round remains to be seen.

The Jets picked up North Carolina defensive end Quinton Coples in the 1st round of the draft Thursday. He could potentially be the difference making pass rusher that New York has been looking for, assuming he doesn't turn into Vernon Gholston.
