2012 NFL Draft Best Available: Plenty of Cornerbacks Left For Rounds 2 & 3

Three cornerbacks were selected during the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft on Thursday, the most notable being Morris Claiborne from the LSU Tigers, whom the Dallas Cowboys felt they needed to trade up to No. 6 in order to secure.

The second and third rounds of the draft will take place Friday, with plenty of talented cornerbacks still left in this year's class, should any team feel they need to focus on improving their secondary. The top cornerback remaining in the draft is North Alabama's Janoris Jenkins, who is the overall 27th-ranked player in this year's class, according to Mocking the Draft. There is a chance that teams are reluctant to go all-in on Jenkins based on his off-field history, but it will be surprising if he is still on the board after the second round.

Other notables include No. 41-ranked Jamell Fleming of the Oklahoma Sooners, No. 53 Josh Robinson of the Central Florida Knights -- who has added value as a kick and punt returner -- No. 58 Alfonzo Dennard of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, No. 64 Leonard Johnson of the Iowa St. Cyclones and No. 66 Brandon Boykin of the Georgia Bulldogs.

Sleeper picks for the position could include Chase Minnifield of the Virginia Cavaliers, Josh Norman from Coastal Carolina, or Trumaine Johnson from Montana, who were all ranked in the top 100 among this year's draftees.
