2012 NFL Draft Results: Full List Of Round 4 Picks
The 4th round of the draft is all about depth. Teams select the players they think can eventually step in and become starters or at least useful role players that specialize in one situation or another. Occasionally, teams find a jewel in the 4th round.

102. Washington Redskins: Michigan State QB Kirk Cousins, 6’3, 214 pounds.

This is a great move for the 49ers, who move up a round next year to give up this pick. That’s a good strategy that Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots often employ. It allows for more flexibility down the road.

96. St. Louis Rams: Wake Forest WR Chris Givens, 5’11, 198 pounds
97. Miami Dolphins (trade with 49ers): Miami RB Lamar Miller, 5’11, 211 pounds
