2012 NFL Draft Results: Cincinnati Bengals Select Orson Charles With 116th Pick

The next round of picks of the 4th round of the 2012 NFL Draft are in. The Cincinnati Bengals decided to take a chance on tight end Orson Charles who had some off the field issues and a poor Pro Day that pushed the talented tight end down the draft board.

The San Francisco 49ers felt the need to move up in the fourth round, making a deal with the Detroit Lions to come up and grab offensive lineman Joe Looney.

116. Cincinnati Bengals: Georgia TE Orson Charles, 6’2, 251 pounds

Mocking The Draft on Charles:

Strengths: While Charles splits out to the slot, he plays with his hand down more than most college tight ends. Is a good receiver who has the speed to separate after the catch. Can pick apart zone coverage.

Weaknesses: Looks as much like a powerful wide receiver as he does a tight end. Will drop catchable throws. Needs to be used in the right situation, much like Aaron Hernandez of the Patriots or Dustin Keller of the Jets.

117. San Francisco 49ers: Wake Forest OG Joe Looney, 6’3, 309 pounds

118. Minnesota Vikings: Arkansas WR Jarius Wright, 5'10, 182 pounds

Mocking The Draft on Wright:

Strengths: Great speed and could be a good vertical receiver if put into the right offense. Good shiftiness after the catch. Excellent first step. Could be an asset immediately in the NFL as a return man. Could be a big-play wide out in the NFL. Should do well on special teams.

Weaknesses: Needs to get stronger and has a hard time beating the jam at the line of scrimmage. Gets rerouted by the defensive back. Doesn’t have natural hands. Body catcher. Routes are limited in the red zone to slants.

119. Washington Redskins: Texas LB Keenan Robinson, 6'3, 242 pounds

120. Cleveland Browns: Nevada LB James-Michael Johnson, 6'1, 241 pounds
