The Carolina Panthers are wasting no time in attempting to solidify their team for the upcoming 2012 season. Following the NFL Draft, they are trying to get all of the selections on board as quickly as possible, which is certainly a sound strategy.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Panthers have come to terms with their first-round draft pick, linebacker Luke Kuechly. The four-year contract will be worth $12.58 million in guaranteed money.

The Cincinnati native out of Boston College was selected as the No. 9 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. His deal makes him the highest selection out of this year’s draft to sign with his team. Plenty more are sure to follow.

Kuechly’s deal is significant for the team in another way, as now all seven of the Carolina draft picks have reportedly agreed to four-year contracts.
