Free Agent Brandon Lloyd, Rams To Continue Talking

The St. Louis Rams annual search for a receiver will continue this offseason but the Rams hope they won't have to go very far to find one. In fact, they want to keep one of their own -- Brandon Lloyd. The Rams receiver is set to hit free agency on March 13 but SB Nation's Turf Show Times has confirmed the two sides are still talking.

“We had initial discussions in Indianapolis,” Rams COO Kevin Demoff told TST. “We plan to continue talking.”

It'l be interesting to see how far those talks get. You gotta think Lloyd tests free agency by this point. He has previously said he'd like to play for Josh McDaniels, who was the Rams offensive coordinator last season and now running the Patriots offense in New England. The Patriots have a need for a receiver so that makes a lot of sense.

The Rams will have competition for Lloyd. Thanks to several other top receivers likely getting hit with the franchise tag, Lloyd will be one of the top receivers available. He’ll have options.

For more on Lloyd’s situation, be sure to check out Rams blog Turf Show Times. And for more on St. Louis sports, check out SB Nation St. Louis.
