Adam Carriker Returns To Redskins With 4-Year Contract

The NFL free agent season has begun and already no other team has been half as aggressive as the Washington Redskins. Beginning with their move to trade up in order to secure the No. 2 spot in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Redskins have made it abundantly clear that they'll do everything in their power to contend next season.

Almost immediately after free agency opened, it was announced that the team had signed wide receiver Pierre Garcon to a five-year deal.

NFL.com reporter Jason La Canfora reported later on Tuesday that Washington has re-signed defensive lineman Adam Carriker to a four-year contract. The deal will be worth $20 million, with $7 million guaranteed.

That’s two big pieces already in place for the Skins -- three if, like most observers, you assume they will use their No. 2 pick on Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Robert Griffin III. It has already been a very productive offseason in Washington.
