Dolphins Chances Of Landing Peyton Manning Are ‘Dwindling’

Peyton Manning's free agency tour has included stops in Denver and Arizona, along with a meeting with Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin and members of the Titans front office. It's unclear if there's a leader for the former Colts quarterback's services, but several reports indicate that if the Dolphins aren't already out of the race, then their chances of landing Manning are small and getting smaller.

Chris Mortensen reported on ESPN that the Titans, Broncos and Cardinals were still alive in the race for Manning; he didn't mention the Dolphins. ESPN colleague Adam Schefter characterized Miami's chances of landing Manning as "dwindling."

The Dolphins set up a visit with free agent QB Matt Flynn, which suggests they're considering other options. At one point, the Dolphins were believed to be the favorites, but things have changed considerably since then. Flynn is the next best option behind Manning but they do have competition for him, as he has visited the Seahawks.
