Paul Soliai was a free agent for about 24 hours before deciding to return to the Dolphins.

Flynn’s former offensive coordinator in Green Bay, Joe Philbin, happens to be the Dolphins’ new head coach. Philbin knows Flynn better than anyone, so he should have the best assessment of what the former LSU signal-caller can do for the franchise. Absent Manning, Flynn is the best available quarterback on the market. It’s clear the Dolphins are intent on adding a quarterback, even if that’s not Manning.

The Dolphins were interested in re-signing him all along and for good reason. Nose tackles are hard to come by in the NFL, which is why multiple teams were interested in Soliai in his short stint on the open market. He’s 28 years old and stands 6’4” and 344 pounds.

Flynn isn’t technically a free agent until March 13 but teams usually put out feelers ahead of time. Apparently that isn’t happening with him. The Dolphins are widely viewed as one of the teams in the Manning pursuit, and Manning is obviously a better player than Flynn, so that makes sense.
Manning is in Miami but not to sign with the Dolphins. That’s where he owns a home. The Dolphins are more than likely one of the dozen teams that have reportedly inquired about Manning.

Henne unfortunately never turned out to be that guy and is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. The Miami Dolphins are not expected to make an offer to retain Henne, according to a report by Omar Kelly of The Sun Sentinel.
Henne is likely to find a team in free agency however, especially one looking for a back up quarterback who can still be developed into a potential spot starter.

Miami Herald Dolphins beat writer Armando Salguero doesn’t sound too optimistic about the chances of Soliali returning next year, suggesting the 28-year-old is liking looking for a big payday.
Looking at Soliai’s numbers would suggest losing him might not be the worst thing. He only broke into the starting lineup in 2010 and has made just 66 tackles and 2.0 sacks during that time. Like all good nose tackles, though, Soliai’s production doesn’t tell the whole story. He’s a big body, 6-foot-4 and 355 pounds, that often occupies multiple blockers. He’s not irreplaceable, but it would be a hole that needs filling.
