The Marlins threw money at Heath Bell. They threw money at Jose Reyes. They threw money at Mark Buehrle. They tried to throw money at Albert Pujols. They might still throw money at Yoenis Cespedes. And now another. When will the money-throwing stop!
Greg Dobbs Re-Signing With Marlins For Two Years
The Miami Marlins are re-signing infielder Greg Dobbs to a two-year contract worth $3 million.

The #marlins have agreed with Greg Dobbs on a 2-year deal.
Further, from Jon Heyman:
dobbs gets $3M for the 2 years. thats $1.5M a year for greg dobbs. i said it twice so youll believe me.
This is the latest in an offseason of two-year contracts for utility players. Dobbs is primarily a first and third baseman, although he also has experience in the corner outfield. Given that the Marlins intend to shift Hanley Ramirez to third, they probably like the idea of having a familiar face behind him as support. They clearly like the idea of having a familiar face behind him as support.
Dobbs is 33. He bats lefty. Three years ago, he was bad. Two years ago, he was worse. Last year, he was okay. Over his career, he’s been okay. He doesn’t really walk or hit for power or play great defense, but if he could do those things, he’d be a starter. In Miami, he’ll ride the bench, as he should. I don’t know why he’s getting two guaranteed years, but his salary is sufficiently small that, whatever.
