Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb will miss six to eight weeks because of injuries to his ribs and a joint near his left shoulder, an NFL source tells Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic. Kolb had three ribs detach from his sternum and the source also said that the joint near the shoulder popped out of place and then went back in.

The Cardinals have not put an official timetable on Kolb's return but, if all goes well, Kolb could be back at some point between Nov. 25 against the St. Louis Rams and Dec. 9 against the Seattle Seahawks. John Skelton will start in Kolb's place.
Fantasy Impact: Kolb was playing fairly well for the Cardinals before this painful injury, but this is not likely to cost fantasy owners a great deal. Kolb was at best a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in most leagues.
Skelton falls into the same range as Kolb and would be a bye-week replacement or No. 2 quarterback. Skelton is worth picking up only in rare circumstances.
