Rain delays Yankees-Tigers ALCS Game 4

Game 4 of the ALCS between the Tigers and Yankees was scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET, but it has been delayed due to weather conditions in the area.

The start of Game 4 of the American League Championship Series between the New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers will be delayed due to inclement weather in the area, per MLB's official Twitter account. No starting time has been announced as of yet.

First pitch was scheduled for 8 p.m. ET, but no players were on the field or in either bullpen just 10 minutes prior to that, leading suspicion of a delay before it was eventually announced. Both of Wednesday's LCS games have been affected by poor weather conditions, as the Cardinals and Giants are in the middle of a lengthy rain delay in St. Louis.

When the game does get going, CC Sabathia will be on the mound for the Yankees, who are looking to avoid a sweep, as well as a second consecutive season ending at the hands of the Tigers. Detroit will counter with Max Scherzer, who led the American League in strikeouts per nine innings during the regular season.
