Tim Tebow gets in the game, Jets punt anyway

At least he picked up a first down.

It's Tim Tebow time for the New York Jets. And it's not that much different from Mark Sanchez time. Tebow took over the Jets offense for one drive and the result was the same -- a punt. This was actually the first time Tebow has had a whole drive to himself.

Tebow’s drive started off impressive enough with a 12-yard run, picking up the first down. On the following play he picked up one yard, then a two yard sack and then, on 3rd-and-11, a delay of game.

That led to the awkward decision of having Tebow in the game when the Jets are in a must-pass situation. It doesn’t sound pretty and it wasn’t -- Tebow scrambled before eventually throwing it out of bounds.

Mark Sanchez returned to the game on the following series.

Tebow has seen some playing time but usually only a play or two here or there. He hasn’t played any significant minutes at quarterback.
