Colts vs. Chiefs, Week 16: Indy returns to playoffs

Andrew Luck sets the rookie passing record as the Colts return to the postseason.

The Indianapolis Colts are back in the playoffs. This is a season after going 2-14, losing a Hall of Fame quarterback, and losing their head coach at midseason due to a battle with Leukemia. Andrew Luck set a new rookie record for most yards passing and at 10-5, Indianapolis knows it is back in the postseason for the 11th time in the past 13 seasons.

As Stampede Blue states, this season is already an unqualified success even with a regular season game and at least one postseason game to go:

The win in KC, coupled with the Steelers losing to the Bengals 13-10 virtually, all the spots in the AFC are locked up. Also locked up is the 5 seed for the Colts. They will face the No. 4 seed, which could mean a trip to Baltimore to face the Ravens, the team Chuck Pagano used to coach for.

Luck has no thrown for 3,978 yards and is in line for the first 4,000 yard passing season by a rookie quarterback in NFL history. His game-winning touchdown pass to Reggie Wayne with just over three minutes left also tied another NFL record. It was the seventh time this season that the Colts have been tied or trailed in the fourth quarter and Luck led a game-winning drive.

Indianapolis will play at either Cincinnati or Baltimore in round one of the playoffs depending on who wins the AFC North between the two next week.
