Cotton Bowl: WR Jalen Saunders in, DT Stacy McGee out for Oklahoma

Oklahoma will have wide receiver Jalen Saunders, but will be without defensive tackle Stacy McGee. Both players were arrested last month.

Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE

Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops announced on Friday that the team will be getting one player back in the lineup for their Cotton Bowl matchup against the Texas A&M Aggies, but defensive tackle Stacy McGee will not be playing, nor will he be traveling with the team.

Saunders was arrested earlier in December on marijuana possession, and getting him back for the Cotton Bowl is good news for the Sooners. This year Saunders saw action in eight games where he hauled in 53 receptions for 766 yards as well as three touchdowns.

McGee was arrested on Christmas Eve for driving under the influence as well as driving with a suspended license, so seeing McGee suspended for the Cotton Bowl does not come as a shock. This is second time this year that McGee was suspended, he had to sit out six game earlier this year for undisclosed reasons. Look for redshirt freshman Jordan Phillips to take McGee's place in the defensive line rotation.
