When the Arizona Diamondbacks signed DH Jason Kubel this winter, it seemed like a really good move except for the Diamondbacks rarely getting to use a DH in their games, which means that Kubel will routinely be playing left field for the Diamondbacks while ex-left fielder Gerardo Parra routinely watches Kubel not making defensive plays from the bench.

Hey, it takes all kinds. But it seems that at least one other team thinks more of Parra than the Diamondbacks. MLB.com’s Bill Ladson:
The Nationals are still looking for help in the outfield and they have expressed interest in D-backs outfielder Gerardo Parra, according to a baseball source.

The left-handed-hitting Parra can play all three outfield positions. If he were to join the Nationals, he could be the team's center fielder, which is his worst defensive position.
Well, sure. Center field is a lot of guys' worst defensive position. But Parra is a) fast, and b) his numbers in the corner outfield spots are excellent. He's got only 363 innings in center field, and my guess is that his sub-par numbers there are largely a statistical fluke. If I needed a center fielder, I would be perfectly comfortable giving Parra an extended try-out. Though if Bryce Harper makes the Nationals' Opening Day roster, they won't need a center fielder because presumably Jayson Werth's going to slide there, with Harper in right and Michael Morse in left. Unless they dump Adam LaRoche and move Mike Morse from left field to first base and Werth from right to left which would open up center for Parra which would probably make the Nationals about as good as they can be but now we're just piling fantasies atop wishes and we know what that leads to.
Chaos.
Or, sometimes, a division title. Maybe.
