Shaun Rogers Will Miss Entire 2012 Season With Blood Clot

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin officially announced on Tuesday that defensive tackle Shaun Rogers will miss the entire 2012 season due to a blood clot in his leg.

Rogers was signed as a free agent by the Giants in April after spending the 2011 season with the New Orleans Saints.

Drafted with the the No. 61 overall selection by the Detroit Lions in the 2001 NFL Entry Draft, Rogers was named to three Pro-Bowls over the course of his career as well as earning a Second Team All-Pro Selection in 2004. After the 2007 season, the 33-year-old University of Texas product spent three seasons with the Cleveland Browns before his stint with the Saints.

To this point, Rogers has amassed 372 tackles, 37.5 sacks and one interception in 156 games played.
