Ole Miss Football Fall Scrimmage Recap: I’Tavius Mathers Makes Presence Felt With 3 TD Performance
Some young running backs had some major highlights Saturday morning during Ole Miss’ second scrimmage of the preseason.

Mathers, who came off the bench behind starter Randall Mackey, stole the show by making defenders miss on a handful of occasions that lead to some big gains. Fellow freshman Jaylen Walton also had a nice 20-yard run of his own leading head coach Hugh Freeze to say in the post game interview that he was "impressed" with the play of his running backs.
“I’m crazy about our two young backs,” said Freeze. “Jaylen (Walton) and I’Tavius are phenomenal competitors. They have not missed a snap of fall camp. They have been beat on and hit and they bounce back up after every one.”
Quarterback Bo Wallace did his part to help secure the quarterback job with a 12-yard touchdown run of his own to go along with his touchdown through the air to wide receiver Donte Moncrief. The 6'5" sophomore reportedly seemed to move the offense well against the first team defense but did have an interception on the day that was returned 100 yards by safety Cody Prewitt.
