Not to try and find something ominous in everything any Penn State official ever says, but here's former PSU president Graham Spanier on Joe Paterno from an interview with the New Yorker (that's Paterno, a Catholic with a literature degree who couldn't recall what "sodomy" meant and told a grand jury he didn't "remember" any rumored abuses by Jerry Sandusky beyond the 2001 case):
Joe Paterno ‘Had The Most Remarkable Memory,’ Says Graham Spanier
↵↵He had the most remarkable memory of any human being I’ve ever met. I’m not exaggerating. I can’t tell you how many times we would bump into somebody-let’s say it’s 1996, or 2010. And we’d be at an event somewhere and he’d spot somebody and he’d say, “Weren’t you on the Syracuse team in 1953, when that play occurred and you blocked so-and-so?”
