Denard Span has been dealing with what he thought was a sore shoulder, but the team wasn't sure because he was initially too claustrophobic for an MRI. He eventually did get the MRI done, and it revealed that the problem wasn't isolated to his shoulder:
Denard Span Hits DL With Sore Clavicle

An MRI on Denard Span's sore collarbone revealed a sprain in the SC, or sternoclavicular, joint in his clavicle, the Twins centerfielder said Wednesday
Span was placed on the disabled list on Thursday.
The injury has been a source of consternation among Twins fans because Span has missed 13 out of the last 17 games, during which time the team has played with a 24-man roster. As Aaron Gleeman notes, the move to put Span on the DL comes 18 days after his initial injury and just a day before the rosters were going to expand.
The 28-year-old center fielder is hitting .286/.349/.393 on the season, with 14 stolen bases and three home runs.
