Did the Colorado Rapids finally find some sort of form or did they just prey on the Portland Timbers, who are exceptionally poor away from home? I don't think the Rapids will care which one it is, they are just happy to have three points after taking down the Timbers 3-0 at Dicks Sporting Goods Park on Wednesday.
Colorado Rapids Vs. Portland Timbers, 2012 MLS: Rapids Cruise 3-0
The Rapids took control from the beginning, hitting the post in the first minute and going in front after within six minutes. Drew Moor's cross from the right found Tony Cascio, who knocked it back across goal for Andre Akpan to bury.
Cascio got himself on the scoresheet in the 27th minute when he slid to redirect Jaime Castrillon's cross on frame. Donovan Ricketts did well to make the save, but Cascio hopped on the rebound and scored it to double the Rapids' lead.
Colorado put a ribbon on their win five minutes from time when Castrillon added a goal of his own, heading home from close range off of a corner kick. The three points were theirs and Portland’s awful road form continued.
