Colombia Vs. Uruguay, 2014 World Cup Qualifying: Halftime Score 1-0, Falcao Goal Has Cafeteros Up

It's been a stellar 45 minutes of football for Colombia, who are milking their fantastic home crowd for all they're worth. They appear to have much more energy in their legs than their more talented Uruguayan opponents, and they lead their World Cup qualifier 1-0 at the halftime break.

Radamel Falcao, who seemingly scores every time he touches the ball in the penalty area these days, scored the game’s first goal after just two minutes of play. Camilo Zuñiga set up the goal with a cross into the box, which Aldo Ramirez completely whiffed on. Fortunately for Colombia, that caused the ball to fall to Falcao, who finished first time from 10 yards.

If it weren't from some assertive play by Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera and some unlucky poor touches in the final third by usually classy Colombian attackers, the home side's lead would be much bigger. It's worth noting that Uruguay are without Luis Suarez at the moment, and it shows. Edinson Cavani and Diego Forlan don't look terribly dangerous without their partner in crime.
