Brett Jackson is the Cubs’ future. He was almost their past, though, after running into a wall at PNC Park. Even if the Cubs are deca-eleventy games out of the playoff races, it’s still amazing to watch this kind of effort.

(He walked off the field on his own power. He even laughed a little!)
