The 2013 Waste Management Phoenix Open tees off on Thursday at 4 p.m. The talented field of golfers are looking to use the annual event to kickstart their seasons and the competition should be fierce as some of the world’s greatest golfers will be playing in the event. The tournament will take place at TPC Scottsdale in Arizona, the purse will be $6.2 million and a win would be worth 500 FedEx Cup points.

The tournament will begin off at 7:30 a.m. EST when group one, consisting of Bo Van Pelt, Kevin Stadler and Kevin Chappell, tees off. However, the tournament will not begin to be broadcast until 4 p.m. EST on GOLF Channel.

Some big groups that will be teeing off on Thursday are group 16, Jason Dufner, Rickie Fowler and Phil Mickelson, who begin at 8:06 a.m. and group 17: Brandt Snedeker, Hunter Mahan and Padraig Harrington, who begin at 8:15 a.m. Group 27 consists of Russell Henley, Nick Watney and Bubba Watson and will tee of at 12:16 p.m. and group 28 is Keegan Bradley, Kyle Stanley and Martin Kaymer. They tee off at 12:25 p.m. Overall, there will be 44 groups, the last teeing off at 1:10 p.m.

Coverage of the WM Phoenix Open will continue throughout the evening on Thursday and through the night as the GOLF Channel will be airing the tournament at 7:30 p.m. and at 10 p.m. EST. Rounds one and two will be exclusively on GOLF while portions of rounds three and four will be broadcast nationally on NBC.

The WM Phoenix Open should be a good precursor to get sports fans ready for the Super Bowl and will get the golfers ready for the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, which begins on Feb. 7.
