J.J. Redick traded to Milwaukee Bucks, according to report

After months of fielding rumors, the Orlando Magic have traded J.J. Redick to the Milwaukee Bucks, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. It's unclear what the Magic will receive back, but there is a possibility of a three-team deal that was first raised by Joshua Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel.

Redick is having a career-year in 2012-13, averaging four minutes, four points and two assists more per game than he did last season (which was, in each of those categories, his best season to date). He's an unrestricted free agent after 2013, though, and he'll be a hot commodity on the free-agent market. He turns 29 in June and seems to be nearing his prime athletically. His style of play would suggest several years near that peak level.

Several teams, including the Celtics, Bulls, Pistons, Pacers, Grizzlies, Knicks and Spurs, have inquired about Redick, but the Magic ultimately decided to move him to Milwaukee.

The Bucks needed some shooting help, as they are middle of the pack in three-point makes per game and three-point percentage. Milwaukee holds the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, but a boost from Redick could help them move up a few slots to avoid a tougher first-round playoff matchup. Not only do the Bucks want Redick for a potential playoff run this season, they would like to be able to re-sign him long term.
