Rangers vs. Jets: Ryan Callahan scores shorthanded beauty

The Jets wasted a 5-on-3 chance.

If you want a textbook example of how not to handle a 5-on-3 opportunity, look no further than the Winnipeg Jets' chance in the second period on Monday.

The Jets were given a two-man advantage thanks to an iffy couple of penalty calls on Mats Zuccarello and Dan Girardi, and then decided to not shoot. At all. The puck was passed around by at least three or four Jets before the Rangers managed to get a stick on it and push it out of the zone.

Unfortunately for Winnipeg, Zuccarello was coming out of the box just in time to intercept the puck. Callahan finished the shorthanded play with a beautiful couple of moves to tie the game at 2-2.
