NASCAR Martinsville 2013 schedule: Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson continue to perform well

NASCAR returns to Martinsville this weekend for the STP Gas Booster 500. First run in 1949, it’s one of the sport’s oldest events -- and Ryan Newman is looking to repeat as victor. His last win in the Sprint Cup Series happened in this race just over a year ago, and at 20th in the standings he could use another top-five finish. This is your schedule for the entire weekend’s events.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson continue to perform strongly for Hendrick Motorsports, sitting in first and third, respectively. The Martinsville track has been particularly kind to Johnson in the past. He’s won twice on the short track in the last five years, and this weekend is vital to retaining his position after back-to-back races where he failed to finish in the top 10.

Meanwhile in Saturday’s Camping World Truck Series, less than 15 points separate the top ten drivers. A strong performance in the Kroger 250 is key if one of the drivers hopes to put some space between himself and the track.
