The first half of the quarterfinal matchups for the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Division I Championship got underway on Saturday, and now all four teams playing on Sunday know who they might face in the next round. No. 1 Syracuse advanced with a last-second victory over Yale and No. 3 Ohio State was upset big time by Cornell, who dominated that game 16-6.

On Sunday, the second half of the NCAA Men’s Division I Tournament quarterfinals will get underway, as North Carolina takes on Denver and Notre Dame takes on Duke.


First up on Sunday, No. 4 Denver will take on No. 5 North Carolina. Denver put up the most points of any team in the tournament in its first-round matchup against Albany, winning that game 19-14, while North Carolina dominated Lehigh in its, winning 16-7.
That first game is set for noon (ET) and will be broadcast on ESPNU. The winner will take on Syracuse in the semifinals.
Then, No. 2 Notre Dame will take on No. 7 Duke at 2:30 p.m. Both teams narrowly won their first-round matchups, with Duke besting Loyola-Maryland, 12-11, and Notre Dame outlasting Detroit, 9-7. That game will also be on ESPNU. The winner will take on Cornell in the semifinals.
