I love animals, and I think it’s neat that an animal is the star of a champion GIF, but this is so mildly-neat it hurts. I seeded these randomly, but had I done so intentionally, I would have still put this guy up against the GIF below. Because the GIF below is going to lay waste to this tournament.

Some animated sports GIFs take a long and winding road to greatness. This actually happened last year, but somehow it managed to escape my notice until just a few months ago. And it must be included. It must. Eric Chavez’s “hey hey hey hey!” collapsing into a, “g’awwwwwwh.” And then you see Cody Eppley, and then you wait ... and wait ... and DOINK, and it’s simple, majestic comedy. This is humor distilled into its purest essence. Anyone who doesn’t like this is Cody Eppley.
