Friends, we have counted precisely 29,956 votes, and the 32 animated sports GIFs of GIF TOURNAMENT IV have been whittled down to four. In case you missed this weekend’s action:
HOCKEY SORCERY 1,006, IAN KINSLER 961. SORCERY held a slim lead throughout the weekend, and a last-minute rush to the polls Sunday night didn’t help KINSLER up-end the tournament’s top overall seed. I was surprised, frankly, that KINSLER -- a quality GIF in his own right -- put up as much of a fight as he did.

These dang GIF TOURNAMENTs always break my heart. Every single time. Certainly, there can only be winner, and I do feel that it’s important to follow established seeding protocols, rather than seeding the bracket however I’d like.
But yesterday, we had to wave goodbye to a GIF legend.
