NASCAR Sonoma 2013: Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s 12-year-old niece to race karts
The 12-year-old niece of Dale Earnhardt Jr. will take the next step in her racing career with a move to the Mini Outlaw Series.

Karsyn Elledge, the 12-year-old granddaughter of Dale Earnhardt and niece of Dale Earnhardt Jr, will be driving the Nickelodeon car when she takes the next step in her racing career next week. Elledge will compete in the Mini Outlaw Series this summer in a winged mini-sprint kart running in California and North Carolina.
“My family’s history in racing is something I’m very proud of,” Karsyn Elledge said Saturday at Sonoma Raceway. “Both my mom and dad were born into racing families and they were very passionate about the sport. They’ve passed that passion on to me and it’s something I really enjoy.”
Elledge will drive a kart owned by her father Jimmy Elledge, a former NASCAR crew chief. Her mother is Kelley Earnhardt-Miller, the general manager for JR Motorsports.
