Blackhawks vs. Kings Game 5 recap: Chicago advances to the Stanley Cup Final

A Patrick Kane goal in the second overtime sent Chicago to the final round.

The Chicago Blackhawks are back in the Stanley Cup Final after eliminating the Los Angeles Kings with a 4-3 win in the second overtime of Game 5.

The two teams traded chances early on in the period. Anze Kopitar dragged the puck out from behind the net and barely curled it wide just minutes in. Moments later, Brandon Saad fired a slap shot well over Jonathan Quick. Saad replaced Bryan Bickell on a line with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. Bickell left the game near the end of the first overtime and never returned.

The next ten minutes or so were spent playing more back-and-forth hockey, but the Blackhawks finally cashed in on a scoring chance when Jonathan Toews setup Patrick Kane for the game-winner.
