It’s not an uncommon sight to see Danica Patrick in a television commercial or magazine appearing scantily clad. But what the NASCAR driver has yet to do is pose nude.

Danica Patrick isn’t shy about revealing her body and while she has never appeared nude, it is an idea she would consider.

The topic came up during Patrick’s weekly press conference Friday when she was asked if she would ever appear in the “body issue” published by ESPN The Magazine.
In the yearly feature, the publication showcases athletes from various sports posing artistically nude -- though not revealing everything. One of the athletes in the just-released 2013 edition is NHRA drag racer Courtney Force -- the daughter of legendary drag racer and 15-time champion John Force -- who is sitting on a tire.
“I just never felt like that was something I needed or wanted to do,” Patrick said Friday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. “A lot of the stuff that I’ve done has been scantily clad swimsuit stuff.”
“Would I feel comfortable? I’m sure it’d be a little bit borderline. There’s a difference to me between going to the beach and wearing a swimming suit and going to the beach and wearing nothing or paint. That’s just pushing the limit a little bit.”
Patrick said she gets asked yearly about appearing but thus far has declined the invitation. She has also turned down the offer to wear body paint in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, though she has been photographed wearing a skimpy bathing suit in addition to the numerous racy outfits she has worn in Go Daddy commercials.
However, Patrick isn’t opposed to the idea and said, “Artistically, I think it would be really fun.” But as of now, she has yet to accept ESPN’s offer.
“It’s not things that I need to do to push the issue with my brand,” she said. “There’s already enough stuff that I do that pushes that. I’d rather stay in my full comfort zone than go that far. I’m not saying there will never be a day.
”When I speak to (ESPN) and they ask me each time I say, “Don’t stop asking. I don’t know. I might change my mind one year. And it might be something that parallels something else I’m doing, or where I’m at, or how I’m feeling.” But just not right now.
As for the notion of appearing completely nude, don’t expect her to do so anytime soon.
“I still have to do things that I feel completely comfortable with and I feel wouldn’t take away from the other things I do -- the good things that I do,” Patrick said. “Because those things can turn negative quick and be louder than the good and that’s not what I want to happen.”
