Coming off his historic victory at the British Open, Phil Mickelson has a lot of work ahead of him after his opening front nine at the 2013 WGC-Bridgstone Invitational if he hopes to keep his hot streak going.
2013 Bridgestone Invitational leaderboard: Phil Mickelson at 2-under after 9
Looking to continue his historic hot streak, Lefty will need to overcome an unspectacular start to his Bridgestone Invitational.

Through nine holes, Lefty sits at 2-over, currently good for a 47th-place tie on the tournament’s big board. Things started out smooth, as Mickelson birdied his first two holes before knocking in an eagle on No. 3. He then hit a rough patch, bogeying three of the next four holes. He evened out his front nine with birdies on No. 8 and 9.
Webb Simpson, meanwhile, currently sits atop the leaderboard after finishing his day 6-under, and is followed closely by Henrik Stenson at five-under. Four players are logged in a four-way tie for third, including Tiger Woods, looking to overcome his disappointing finish at Muirfield.
