NFL injury report, Cowboys vs. Chiefs 2013: Minor bumps and bruises for Kansas City and Dallas

The Chiefs and Cowboys both avoided major injuries and settled for minor bumps and bruises during their Week 2 matchup.

The Chiefs hosted the Cowboys in Week 2 and came out on top by a score of 17-16. Kansas City and Dallas both entered the game relatively healthy and avoided any major injuries during their clash on Sunday. According to reports for both sides, both teams suffered seemingly minor injuries that most players were able to return from later in the contest.

According to ESPN's Adam Teicher, tight end Anthony Fasano suffered an ankle injury early in the contest but was able to return later in the game. Starting left tackle Branden Albert (shoulder) and defensive lineman Mike DeVito (stinger) both left the game due to injury, but also returned to action against the Cowboys, per Teicher. With a short week, those injuries are worth monitoring as the Chiefs prepare to play the Eagles in Week 3 on Thursday Night Football in Philadelphia.

According to ESPN Dallas/Fort Worth’s Calvin Watkins, wide receiver Dez Bryant’s back tightened up on him during the game. Watkins also reports that cornerback Orlando Scanderick received stitches in his chin after injuring himself during the celebration of a blocked kick. Neither player is expected to miss time.
