It took just two weeks for Andy Reid to match the Kansas City Chiefs' win total from 2012, as the new head coach turned to quarterback Alex Smith for a 17-16 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Smith completed 21-of-36 passes for 223 yards and two touchdowns in the victory. He found Jamaal Charles on a short pass to open the scoring before shutting the door at the end of the third quarter with a 12-yard score to Dwayne Bowe.

Tony Romo had great success through the air, but a lack of running support proved costly as the offense failed to convert numerous short-yardage situations. DeMarco Murray ran for just 25 yards on 12 carries, leaving Romo to shoulder most of the load.

Second-year defensive tackle Dontari Poe made life difficult for the Dallas offensive line, amassing four tackles and two sacks. He was the standout defensive player for Kansas City on Sunday.

Dez Bryant had a big day for the Cowboys. He finished with 141 yards receiving and a touchdown, much of it coming in the first quarter.
