Wisconsin first-year head coach Gary Andersen is the latest person to address the controversial ending to the Badgers' Week 3 loss to Arizona State, saying quarterback Joel Stave "took a knee":

Down two, well into field goal range with less than 20 seconds left, Andersen chose to have Stave kneel in order to get a better angle for the field goal. An Arizona State player mistakenly thought the ball was live after the knee was completed, and jumped on top of it. The referees neglected to stop the clock, and time ran out without Wisconsin getting a shot at the field goal:

The Pac-12 has "reprimanded" the officials involved. Previously, the Big Ten and officiating expert Mike Pereira each spoke out against the officials' decision. Arizona State head coach Todd Graham had no problem with it.
