Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson missed the team's practice on Wednesday after being need in the leg in the team's Week 3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, according to ESPN's Tania Ganguli. He is still expected to play in Week 4 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Andre Johnson misses practice, still a starter for fantasy owners in Week 4
The Texans’ best receiver took a day off practice to rest an injured shin but is still expected to play in Week 4. We discuss the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: Johnson has had to deal with his share of injuries throughout his NFL career and seems to miss practice time on a regular basis. Luckily for fantasy owners, fashion the injury doesn’t typically keep players out of the lineup for very long if at all, and Johnson is regarded as a tough player.
All signs point to him playing this week and despite the fact he is getting older now, he is still quarterback Matt Schaub’s favorite target and still the team’s number one receiver. Johnson caught five passes for a mere 36 yards in the team’s Week 3 loss to the Ravens.
Looking ahead to Week 4, Johnson and the Texans will have to go up against one of the league’s best fantasy defenses, which will likely see Johnson face-off against cornerback Richard Sherman. Those facts point to the possibility that Johnson may underperform this week, but overall he’s still considered a top end fantasy wide receiver.
