Lions’ Ndamukong Suh hits Vikings’ John Sullivan low on interception return

Detroit’s defensive tackle was involved in yet another controversial play in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Vikings.

The NFC North rivalry between the Vikings and Lions may be getting a bit more heated. Early in the second quarter of Sunday's Week 1 matchup, Vikings' quarterback Christian Ponder dropped back for a pass and was intercepted by Lions' linebacker DeAndre Levy. As Levy made his run to the end zone, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh placed a low block on Minnesota center John Sullivan, hitting him in the knee.

This is what it looked like:

The low hit caused Sullivan to hold his knee on the ground for several minutes and reversed a defensive touchdown for the Lions. On the replay, it was clear that Levy did not need the block by Suh. The low block wiped off the touchdown and likely will result in a fine for Suh.

Sullivan has returned to the game and is back at center for Minnesota. The Vikings lead the Lions 14-6 midway through the second quarter.
