NFL injuries, NFC East: Romo, Bryant hurting early

The division took its lumps while playing two games against each other.

The Dallas Cowboys suffered what appear to be the most noteworthy injuries of Week 1 of any NFC East team, with quarterback Tony Romo and wide receiver Dez Bryant both getting injured.

Romo was hurt in the second quarter of his game against the New York Giants on Sunday, when he was sandwiched between three defenders. Romo would remain in the game and afterwards it was revealed he has bruised ribs, with no evidence of a fracture.

Bryant sprained his foot in the fourth quarter and wasn’t too happy about it, as seen here:

On Tuesday morning, Ed Werder of ESPN says Bryant won’t miss any games although he could be limited in practice this week.

The Giants watched linebacker Dan Connor and corner Prince Amukamara leave the game with a neck injury and concussion respectively. Neither returned and their status is up in the air for Week Two.

On Monday night, Washington Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan left the game with an apparent head injury, and is being checked out to see if he sustained a concussion.
