Sunday's game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is exactly why fantasy football was invented, because why the heck else would anyone watch such a game? The two teams are a combined 3-10, on a combined five-game losing streak, and are both in last place. But fantasy points!
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 8: Vikings vs. Buccaneers
This is not an exciting matchup for real football. Hope there’s some fantasy intrigue.

The two teams come into Sunday's game largely healthy, from a fantasy perspective. The Vikings will again be without tight end Kyle Rudolph and the Buccaneers without quarterback Josh McCown, but neither of those is at all a surprise. Tampa Bay wide receiver Vincent Jackson was limited in practice this week with a rib injury, but his status for Sunday hasn't been in any question.
The Buccaneers will host Sunday’s game at 1 p.m. ET. Here’s a look at those fantasy players you’ll be watching:
VIKINGS
Start 'em: Since becoming the Minnesota starter, Jerick McKinnon has looked good in two rough matchups for running backs. Sunday's isn't nearly as unfriendly, and he's now a must-start.
Start 'em?: You don't like Blair Walsh as much outside of his home stadium, but he's still a good kicker.
Sit 'em: It's been really rough sledding for Teddy Bridgewater since coming back from injury. The matchups get easier from here, but still, he's got more to prove. ... Matt Asiata has been left behind; he's no longer relevant. ... The Vikings' pass-catchers -- Cordarrelle Patterson, Greg Jennings, Jarius Wright, Rhett Ellison, Chase Ford -- are a whole amalgamation of "nope" right now. ... The Vikings' defense has played better of late, and the Tampa Bay offense isn't special, but you almost have to be able to find a better option.
BUCCANEERS
Start 'em?: Odds are against Mike Glennon actually starting for many fantasy teams, but it's a favorable matchup, and he's been reasonable of late -- Matt Ryan owners, for example, might want to look toward Glennon. ... It's hard to imagine trusting Doug Martin the way he's been going, but if things are desperate, he could be a low-end flex. ... Vincent Jackson profiles as an above-average flex play, even coming into Sunday banged up. ... Patrick Murray has been kicking much more successfully since the first few weeks. ... If the Buccaneers' defense can do to Bridgewater what Detroit and Buffalo did, it could be a good day.
Sit 'em: As long as he's stuck behind Martin, Bobby Rainey isn't someone you can use. ... Both Mike Evans and Louis Murphy have looked decent, but there just aren't enough balls to go around in Tampa Bay to use them. ... Austin Seferian-Jenkins remains interesting in theory only, as he hasn't produced much at all.
