At the start of the season, many thought the NFC East would be tightly grouped, a bunch of mediocre teams looking for an edge. It hasn't turned out that way -- the 6-1 Dallas Cowboys have set the pace and sit way out in front, while Washington, at 2-5, has done very little. The two teams face each other Monday in a game that could further separate the two teams.
Fantasy football advice, Week 8: Who to start/sit for Washington vs. Cowboys
The NFC East has seen much more separation than we might have expected this season. Will that continue?

Washington running back Alfred Morris appeared on the week's injury report with an ankle injury, but will be on the field Monday. But the big news from the Washington injury report is quarterback Robert Griffin III, who is officially listed as questionable as he works to return from an ankle injury, but is not expected to play Monday. The Cowboys had both quarterback Tony Romo and wide receiver Dez Bryant listed on their injury report, but no one expects either player to be limited.
The division-leading Cowboys will host the Monday game at 8:30 p.m. ET. Here’s a look at the fantasy names:
WASHINGTON
Start 'em?: It's been a rough go of late for Alfred Morris, who has averaged four fantasy points a game the last three weeks and is banged up. He's still a reasonable start, but no longer nearly as exciting as he once was. ... It's difficult to guess week-to-week which of DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon fantasy owners will want out of Washington. Right now, Jackson looks like the better option, but either could be a fantasy starter or a no-show in a given week. ... Everyone loves the ability of Jordan Reed, but it hasn't translated into anything like consistent production. He's right on the edge of startability. ... Kai Forbath has had some decent kicking games, but he's had some awful ones as well. Risk/reward there.
Sit 'em: Even if Robert Griffin III were somehow active, you couldn't possibly use him in his first week back. And the more likely starter, Colt McCoy, is just as scary. ... The Washington defense has a combined seven fantasy points on the season outside of its game against Jacksonville.
COWBOYS
Start 'em: Against a poor defense, and with every reason to expect a lot of possessions, Tony Romo looks like a great start this week. ... Find me a reason to bench DeMarco Murray or Dez Bryant. I dare you. ... Dan Bailey is one of the league's best kickers; he might be the best for fantasy purposes. ... The Cowboys' defense has exceeded expectations this year, even if it hasn't had a single really big game yet, but against McCoy, this could easily be the week.
Start 'em?: Only once all season has Terrance Williams put up fewer than seven fantasy points. He's a strong flex play.
Sit 'em: I still forecast better days ahead for Jason Witten, but until we see them, he's off the starting radar. ... And I'm pretty comfortable calling the big Week 7 of Gavin Escobar a fluke.
SUMMARY
Start in every league: Tony Romo, DeMarco Murray, Dez Bryant, Dan Bailey, Dallas defense
Start if you're desperate: Alfred Morris, DeSean Jackson, Pierre Garcon, Jordan Reed, Kai Forbath, Terrance Williams
Bench: Robert Griffin III, Colt McCoy, Washington defense, Jason Witten, Gavin Escobar
