Fantasy football rankings, Week 6: Wide receivers for standard, PPR leagues

The Saints and Chiefs are off this week. Our rankings will help you choose your best replacement options.

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

Demaryius Thomas finally delivered a big game. His first three games were very disappointing but I'm sure Sunday's game helped many to win their matchups. It's amazing to think that his point total could have been higher if his third touchdown wasn't called back because of a penalty. Looking towards this week, Thomas should continue to rack up the points against a super weak Jets pass defense.

The teams with a bye this week are New Orleans and Kansas City. It'll be tough without the Saints receivers but we shouldn't miss the Chiefs receivers for one week. The receivers we'll be without are Brandin Cooks, Marques Colston, Kenny Stills and Dwayne Bowe. New Orleans will hopefully use the time to get their receivers more involved in a potent passing attack.

Since his awesome Week 1 performance, Calvin Johnson has been pretty disappointing. The last two weeks have been especially hard to watch with a total of one point scored. His ankle injury has limited him to being a decoy and as we saw Sunday, even that can aggravate the injury. We don't know yet his status for this week but safe to say he's closer to sitting than performing like Megatron.

Fantasy Rankings: QB RB WR TE D/ST

Cordarrelle Patterson left Thursday night's game but says he'll be ready for this week against the Lions. The extra three days rest should do wonders for his hip. Malcom Floyd left his game with a calf injury. It's unknown whether he'll be ready for this week. Watch the practice reports for his progress and recovery. Eric Decker and Marvin Jones were unable to go on Sunday. The Jets could really use Decker and this would be his revenge game on Sunday. I'm not sure if he can even turn in a good game with the quarterback turmoil in the Jets camp. Marvin Jones may be back this week. Maybe it was just a one week setback. for him.

Odell Beckham Jr. finally made it on the field and made his impact felt immediately. His double digit point total in his first game points to big things to come. I'm looking forward to some tasty matchups on the rest of the Giants schedule. He's not going to get a huge amount of targets without some injury help. Although, he'll make his targets count with his great speed. Louis Murphy has now put up nine points in back to back weeks. He's not going to star for you but in a flex spot or deep leagues can provide a nice spark. As long as Mike Evans is out, Murphy will get the targets and seems to know how to make things happen.
