How to watch Sochi Olympics online, TV schedule and more

Americans have to deal with NBC’s tape delay once again, but there are online options to watch the Olympic Games live.

SB Nation 2014 Olympics Preview

The 2014 Winter Olympics are in full swing, and there are some decent options to watch them even if you’re American.

For most Americans, they have to deal with NBC again. NBC is tape-delaying the games and airing them between 8 and 11 p.m. ET every night, keeping with a longstanding tradition. This practice has come under increasing criticism in recent years, but the network has shown no signs of changing it up. If you’re American and want to watch the games live, you’re probably out of luck unless you live close enough to the Canadian border to pick up CBC on an antenna.

Despite those issues, NBC has made an effort on the online front. Every single event will be streaming live on the NBC Sports Live Extra app. The catch is that you need a television subscription to use the service, heading full circle into the main problem most people have with NBC’s coverage, but rules are rules.

If you have enough money for a full cable/satellite package, here are the TV listings for Olympic coverage across NBC’s family of networks. Simply punch in your zip code and TV provider and you should be good to go.
