Olympic skiing schedule: Men’s downhill final headlines Sunday lineup

Four gold medals are up for grabs on Sunday as the skiing events reach their climaxes.

Day 4 of the 2014 Winter Olympics is ready to kick off, and skiing events promise to dominate the headlines this day. With four medal events on the schedule, there is a lot at stake for the athletes on Sunday.

The first event is the most anticipated one: the men’s downhill skiing final. By far the fastest and longest course, this is looking to be the most entertaining event of the day. Bode Miller is the biggest American name competing, and he is hoping to continue his dominant run after a strong qualifying round earlier in the week. Miller won bronze in this event in Vancouver, in addition to the Super Combined gold.

Downhill isn’t the only skiing event finishing up on Sunday. There are also medal events in cross country, biathlon and ski jumping. Here’s the complete skiing schedule for the day (all times are ET):

Alpine skiing

Men’s downhill (medal event) - 2 a.m.

Cross country skiing

Men’s skiathlon, 15km classic plus 15km free (medal event) - 5 a.m.

Biathlon

Women’s 7.5km sprint (medal event) - 9:30 a.m.

Ski jumping

Men’s normal hill, individual first round - 12:30 p.m.

Men’s normal hill, individual final round (medal event) - 1:35 p.m.
