2014 Winter Olympics results and schedule: Another USA gold in slopestyle

America’s great at slopestyle, apparently, and Bode Miller faded under expectations in the men’s downhill. Here’s what you missed at the Olympics on Sunday morning while you were sleeping.

SB Nation 2014 Olympics Preview

Gold again in slopestyle

You thought Sage Kostenburg’s gold medal run in men’s slopestyle on Saturday was impressive? Well, if he went head to head with Sunday’s ladies’ champ, USA’s Jamie Anderson, the latter would have won.

Anderson put up a whopping score of 95.25 on her second and final run Sunday morning, more than enough to come out on top of Finland’s Enni Rukajarvi, who took silver with a 92.50. Great Britain’s first medal was won in slopestyle as well, with Jenny Jones taking the bronze.

Miller fades in downhill

American Bode Miller was the favorite to win gold heading into Sunday’s downhill event in alpine skiing, and he had the fastest times earlier in the week in training. But he simply faltered, finishing .52 off the lead, and in an event where a full second can be an eternity, a half-second is enough time to come between gold and eighth place, where Miller finished.

USA’s Travis Ganong finished in fifth place, and Austria’s Matthias Mayer took gold. The top 10:
