Mayweather vs. Maidana odds: Floyd a heavy favorite to remain undefeated

Floyd Mayweather is a -1000 favorite to beat Marcos Maidana when the two meet on Showtime PPV on Saturday night.

Marcos Maidana is no pushover in the boxing ring, though you might not know it if you were to only take a look at the odds for tomorrow night’s bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Mayweather (45-0) is entering the bout as a -1000 favorite. For those new to gambling odds, that means you would have to risk $1,000 to win $100. The odds for Maidana (35-3) to pull off the upset are sitting at +600 -- or, risk $100 to win $600.

This is no knock on Maidana, a heavy puncher who has been in with many of the best fighters in the sport. Instead, it is a commentary on just how much of an edge Mayweather has over any man he steps into the ring with.

The odds are also tilted in favor of the fight going the distance, with Mayweather by decision at -200, Mayweather by stoppage at +200, Maidana by stoppage at +850, Maidana by decision at +1500 and a draw at +2500.

Other fights on the card:

Adrien Broner -2500 vs Carlos Molina +1000

Amir Khan -270 vs. Luis Collazo +210

J’Leon Love -135 vs. Marco Antonio Periban +105

All odds current on Bovada as of 8 a.m. on 5/2.
