Kentucky Derby 2014 streaming: How to watch the Run for the Roses online
The biggest two minutes in horse racing is here.
California Chrome has long since been the favorite to win this year’s Run for the Roses, and that’s no different as the race is finally here. He’s a 5-2 favorite, and he’d be the first favorite under 3-1 odds to win since Big Brown did so in 2008 were he to win.
California Chrome, who would also be the first California-bred horse to win since Decidedly in 1962, got a bit of boost when the second choice, Bob Baffert-trained Hoppertunity, scratched Thursday. Pablo Del Monte, the alternate horse that took Hoppertunity’s spot, also scratched, meaning the Run for the Roses will have a 19-horse field.
Other horses to watch include Wicked Strong, the second choice at 6-1 starting in the furthest outside post at No. 20, and a trio of horses at 8-1 odds: Danza, Intense Holiday and Tapiture.
If you can’t get to a TV to watch the race at 6:24 p.m. ET on NBC, coverage on NBC Sports Live Extra and the Live Extra app begins at 4 p.m. ET.
