Adrien Broner was looking to bounce back from his loss to Marcos Maidana on the undercard of Maidana’s bout with Floyd Mayweather. Broner was facing a man in Carlos Molina who hadn’t fought since 2012 and was expected to be nothing more than a punching bag.
Mayweather vs Maidana results: Adrien Broner earns lackluster win over Carlos Molina
Adrien Broner looked bad in victory tonight, beating Carlos Molina on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana.

Instead, Broner looked disinterested in putting in much effort, choosing only to fight in spurts while seeming to get outworked by Molina for much of the bout.
By the time the final bell rang, it seemed that Broner had done enough to edge out a narrow decision victory.
This being boxing, it seemed that the scorecards were filled out before the fight even started as Broner took the fight by scores of 100-90, 99-91 and 98-92, meaning that only one judge saw the Molina winning two rounds, one judge had him winning one and another judge had it a shutout for Broner.
In the end, this was probably a loss for Broner in terms of perception. He was as high as a -2500 favorite, meaning you’d have to risk $2,500 just to win $100. Instead of a cakewalk he had to earn it in an ugly fight that left him looking extremely flawed.
